Leeds to zróżnicowane etnicznie miasto w północnej Anglii, w hrabstwie West Yorkshire z populacją sięgającą prawie 800 tysięcy mieszkańców. Jest ważnym centrum kulturalnym, naukowym i rozrywkowym. 
W Leeds znajdziemy zabytki XIX wiecznej architektury, z których najbardziej okazałym jest ratusz, którego wieża góruje nad miastem. Polski socjolog Zygmunt Bauman, autor wielu książek m.in. 'Europa - niedokończona przygoda( polecam!) był rektorem wydziału socjologii na tutejszym uniwersytecie aż do 1990.


Leeds is an ethinically diversed city in West Yorkshire, in northern England with a population reaching 800 thousands inhabitants. It's a cultural, scientific and entertainment hub.
In Leeds, you can find many building of the XIX century architecture, the most impressive one being Leeds Town Hall which tower dominates the city. Polish sociologist Zugmunt Bauman, author of many books including 'Europe - an unfinished adventure' (great book!) was a Head of the Department of Sociology in the University of Leeds until 1990.
